Featuring Armand Maulana - Andien, the '7 Ruang Chrisye untuk Kemanusiaan' Concert Successfully Raised Rp900 Million in Donations

Kapanlagi.com - The University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) in collaboration with DSS Music and the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) successfully raised donations totaling more than Rp 900 million, collected from May 21 until the concert on May 30, in the '7 Ruang - Chrisye untuk Kemanusiaan' Concert.

The concert, held virtually through the YouTube channels of ILUNI UI, Baznas TV, and DSS Music on Sunday, May 30, 2021, carried the theme of 'Chrisye untuk Kemanusiaan' as an appreciation for the works of the legendary musician Chrisye. This concert also aimed to raise funds for ILUNI UI's humanitarian missions, especially ILUNI UI Peduli. As of May 31, the concert has been viewed more than 12 thousand times.

1. Opening Donation

ILUNI UI Chairman and event organizer Nongki Wisaksono Soegandhi expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to the donors who participated in the fundraising. The donors are not only from corporations and UI alumni, but also from Baznas donors and the audience of the concert.

"We express our deepest gratitude to the donors during the open donation period, including when we live-streamed the fundraising during last night's concert," said Nongki.

2. Previously Raised Rp21 Billion

Furthermore, Nongki explained that this fundraising concert is not the first one held. Previously, ILUNI UI held a fundraising concert for Palu and Lombok, which successfully raised a total of Rp 21 billion.

"In the future, we want to continue the humanitarian fundraising activities through music concerts. We also hope to collaborate again with DSS Music and their 7 Ruang Concert," he added.

3. There are Many Musicians

The 7 Ruang Concert - Chrisye for Humanity was enlivened by 10 performers who performed more than 20 hit songs by Chrisye. The performance of Raidy Noor Experience opened the concert with a song that raised the spirit of nationalism titled Negeriku. Meanwhile, Shelomita performed Kidung. The collaboration of musicians Candra Darusman and Andien brought a jazz nuance to Chrisye's songs titled Untukku and Sendiri.

UI alumni who is also the President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia, Tony Wenas, contributed his voice to three songs by Chrisye, namely Kala Surya Tenggelam, Bulan Namanya, and Smaradhana, followed by Armand Maulana who enlivened the concert atmosphere by performing the song Anak Jalanan energetically. The concert was closed with a performance by Dira Sugandi who performed one of Chrisye's legendary songs, Juwita.

4. Sri Mulyani Indrawati Also Present

One interesting thing about the 7 Room Concert - Chrisye for Humanity is the participation of the Indonesian Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, in the concert. She performed Chrisye's songs titled Sabda Alam and Pelangi together with Once and Erwin Gutawa.

Sri Mulyani expressed her happiness to be able to participate and sing along with these top Indonesian musicians. She also expressed her support for the humanitarian actions carried out by ILUNI UI.

"I am glad that my friends from ILUNI UI, DSS Music, and Baznas collaborated to mobilize all social activities. And of course, thank you to everyone who watched and donated," she said.

5. Supported by Sandiaga Uno

In addition, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Sandiaga Uno also took the time to attend the concert. He expressed his appreciation and support for the 7 Ruang Concert and the fundraising activities that were carried out.

Furthermore, Sandiaga hopes that the 7 Ruang Concert will be a game changer in the midst of the pandemic by fostering a sense of mutual cooperation through the framework of digital innovation and adaptation.

"We support the 7 Ruang Concert as part of the new adaptation. And we will also contribute to this Chrisye for Humanity event," said Sandiaga.

6. ILUNI's Hope

Meanwhile, present at the ILUNI UI Halal bi Halal event held before the concert, Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA also expressed appreciation for the 7 Ruang Concert - Chrisye for Humanity activities. According to him, ILUNI UI has played a significant role in humanitarian activities, not only for the community but also for UI.

"ILUNI UI has also made many contributions to the alma mater through humanitarian activities, among others. We hope that in the future there will be more synergy between ILUNI UI and the University of Indonesia. We hope that through the 7 Ruang Concert - Chrisye for Humanity, a history will be created," concluded Prof. Dedi.
