Criticism for Being Exposed to Covid-19 After Returning from Turkey, Ashanty: I Actually Didn't Want to Get Infected

During the vacation, Ashanty and her family implemented health protocols. Moreover, the government has never prohibited its citizens from traveling abroad, as long as they are willing to quarantine upon returning to Indonesia.

"At that time, the planes were opened every day, and the country accepted foreign nationals, even in March there was MotoGP here. So we have never been like I've been locked down for a year and haven't gone anywhere," she said.

As someone who has been exposed to Covid-19 twice and has an underlying condition, Ashanty also doesn't want to get infected again. However, fate had other plans, and she ended up getting infected again.

"I'm not asking for understanding, but I also don't really want to get infected, no one does," she concluded.

3. Was Surprised

Ashanty doesn't deny that she was initially surprised when she found out that she was infected with the Covid-19 virus for the second time. But she is grateful that she didn't have any symptoms and has now recovered as usual.

"I was definitely a little surprised, like why didn't I feel anything, am I not feeling it yet? I thought maybe on the third or fourth day. But at that time, if I wanted to get another PCR test, they said the government only recognizes the PCR test at the airport and the one at the isolation place. So in my heart, if it's not recognized, then I'll just follow it," she concluded.

Previously, Krisdayanti was worried about Ashanty's condition after she was confirmed positive for Covid-19 upon returning from Turkey with her extended family. However, Krisdayanti admitted that she did not ask about her current condition but instead frequently gave her encouragement to recover.

"I didn't ask about her condition, I just reminded her to rest. We communicate every day. I didn't ask about the condition. Just stay healthy, stay positive, talk as usual," said Krisdayanti in Depok, West Java, on Sunday (9/1).

5. No One to Blame

Krisdayanti also stated that what happened to Ashanty could happen to anyone, so there is no one to blame.

"It cannot be denied that people's conditions, human conditions, vary. Some are healthy, some are not visible," said Krisdayanti.

"But maybe she got contaminated due to mutations on the plane and other factors. When being tested, being tracked at the airport. We cannot deny that the condition at the airport is also overlapping, the passenger manifest shows thousands of arrivals. So we cannot blame anyone," she continued.
