On Friday (12/9), Darius recounted the chronology of his son's injury. According to him, this injury is one of the risks of being an athlete. Moreover, the injury was caused by a fellow athlete.
"One of the risks of being an athlete, in the midst of pre-season, when performance is getting better, chemistry with the team is building up, and the coach's trust is increasing, this friend showed up uninvited," wrote Darius to start his story.
"Last Saturday, Diego had a friendly match, a preparation before the league starts at the end of this month. This time it became a long day because the team was scheduled to play two games, in the morning an away game, followed by lunch together for team building, and ended with a home game in the afternoon," he continued.
"In the first game, Diego's right ankle got hit by an opponent. After being checked by the physio team and resting for lunch, his condition was still okay and he was allowed to continue playing in the second game," added Darius.
"(In the second game) there were several duels with opponents who were quite tough and it seems he got frustrated a few times not being able to get past Diego who played as a CB," Darius revealed again.
"On one occasion after Diego won the ball, his opponent was still chasing & came in to take the ball, just hit the part of the ankle that was already injured plus made the support when stepping not right and finally twisted it worse," he continued.
"Well, that's the risk in football, fortunately the worst condition did not happen, although I have to rest for 2 weeks and need to use crutches," Darius concluded.
