Kapanlagi.com - In a world that is increasingly connected through social media, various views and opinions on global issues often become heated debates.
Recently, Miss Israel 2013, Titi Ayenew, and Miss Indonesia 2013, Whulandary Herman, were involved in a controversial conversation on social media regarding the Palestine-Israel conflict.
It started with Whulandary uploading two photos in support of the Palestinians.
The photos contained the words "From river to sea, Palestine will be free," and "Bombing children is not self-defense," quoted from Instagram @whulandary, on Saturday (4/11/2023).
However, the reactions to Whulandary's post were not in line with her good intentions. Titi Ayenew, who was once crowned Miss Israel, responded to the post with harsh comments.
“What kind of freedom are you talking about? Is your dream to see my brothers burned and killed? Do you know who started all this? Hamas! You should free them from the Palestinians,” wrote Titi.

Whulandary immediately responded to Titi's unexpected comment. She wrote that escalating the conflict will only create more innocent casualties.
“The escalation of the conflict will only result in more innocent lives being lost, as we can see, many of these unfortunate souls are children.”
Whulandary also added that the world has witnessed Israel's brutality in attacking the people in Gaza, “Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister) lost the narrative battle because the whole world can see the horrifying images of IDF's (Israeli army) brutality in Gaza.”

Netizens are not hesitant to throw harsh comments at Titi Ayenew. Here are some of their comments.
“How can this person be proud to be Miss Universe from an illegal country? What do you represent? Genocide? Colonialism?”
“Miss universe does not support genocide.”
“Oh God, is this the beauty queen from Israel? Oh okay, I want to ask, what is the history of Israel? Are you going to answer 'Israel as immigrants in Palestinian land and now they want to invade and take over the land that helped them' Haha is that the answer? No, that's the fact!”

In an Instagram Story post, Miss Israel said that one of her posts about Palestine was banned by Instagram.
She showed the content that was deleted by Instagram and explained in Hebrew through a video.
She mentioned the word 'Indonesia' several times, which is believed to be one of the factors for the deletion of the post. This is because many Indonesian citizens reported Titi's account to Instagram.
In the screenshot she shared, the post was titled 'No one is safe from Hamas' or 'Tak ada satu pun yang selamat dari Hamas'.
