Debut Acting, Angie Marcheria Involved in 'PERTARUHAN THE SERIES 2'

Kapanlagi.com - Beautiful gamer Angie Marcheria is one of the new faces joining Pertaruhan The Series 2, the continuation of the popular Vidio Original Series in 2022.

This is Angie's acting debut, after previously working more as a game streamer and content creator on various social media platforms.

Here, Angie plays the role of Freya, and will act alongside Jefri Nichol, Juan Bio One, Clara Bernadeth, Giulio Parengkuan, Khiva Iskak, and even Ferry Salim.

Considering this is Angie's first foray into the acting world, at the beginning she had many discussions with director PERTARUHAN THE SERIES SEASON 1 & 2 Sidharta Tata and co-director Fajar Martha Santosa to dissect the character of Freya.

1. Freya's Life Journey is Similar to Angie's

From their discussion, Angie then realized that there are many similarities between herself and the character Freya. "In terms of personality and life journey, Freya is similar to me. We are both gamers and streamers, although Freya is more skilled and even competes," explained the 21-year-old girl.

"We have also both lost our parents. While Freya lost her mother at a very young age, I recently lost my father. So it can be said that Freya and I bond through that fact," she continued.

In The Stakes Series Season 2, Elzan (Jefri Nichol) and Ical (Giulio Parengkuan) escape to Yogyakarta with their niece Wulan (Graciella Abigail). They want to start a new life and escape from the pursuit of Tony's friends (Kiki Narendra), the criminal mastermind who was killed by Elzan at the end of season 1.

However, problems still follow them, and this time they have to deal with a larger criminal syndicate, where everything is at stake for survival, from hope, love, to life. Finally, they meet Freya, a young and beautiful pro-gamer who has a bad relationship with her father, who is a criminal, and they end up being involved in Elzan, Ical, and their friends' adventure.

2. Becoming More Often Playing Games

In order to deepen the role as Freya, Angie, who previously had a 'fasting' from playing games, now even becomes more intense in gaming.

"Before playing in Pertaruhan, I had a break from playing games at all. But when I got this role, it actually pushed me to play more." explained the new Brand Ambassador of Piala Presiden ESport 2023.

According to Angie, who was previously a brand ambassador for a well-known esports organization, although she and Freya are both gamers, Freya's character has a much higher skill level than hers, so she feels the need to "chase" Freya's skill.

"Previously, even though I often played games, I didn't play that often. During the shooting preparation, I could play for hours a day to feel what Freya feels. Moreover, she is a streamer and also plays in competitions. So, Freya is really good and I try to level up with her," she explained.

3. Acting Experience with Senior Actors

Although Angie is used to performing in front of the camera while streaming games or creating video content, Pertaruhan The Series Season 2 is Angie's first acting experience. However, she does not feel burdened or nervous during the shooting process, as is commonly experienced by beginner actors.

"I am grateful to have a character that is quite close to myself because there are many aspects of Freya that I can relate to in real life," said the graduate of Underwood International College Yonsei University in South Korea.

Angie also admitted to receiving a lot of support and advice from other actors who have been involved in the acting world for a longer time, including veteran actor Ferry Salim and child actor Graciella Abigail. They gave advice when Angie had to act crying, which made Angie panic a little because she was still unfamiliar with the technique.

"It's fun here on the shooting location! I don't feel burdened or think 'I don't want to eat, I'm too nervous, or I can't sleep', because I have a very good connection with everyone here. So I'm just happy here," she said.
