1. Back to Indonesia

"So, back in 2011, we met in Solo when I was shooting as a presenter for a motor show on private television. It was also an international festival event in Solo, and coincidentally, my husband was a Dutch art project manager collaborating with Indonesia. So, I wanted to interview him. That's when I had to ask for his manager's phone number, and at that time, we communicated through SMS. And that's how it started," said Nanda Gita.

2. Once Broken

"He couldn't speak Indonesian but he could speak English. We chatted through SMS from Solo to Salihara, Pasar Minggu. I was invited there, and eventually, we became close and started dating," she continued.

However, the relationship between Nanda and her husband at that time ended because Dennis Kuiper had to return to his home country. Nevertheless, they remained very close and often kept in touch, even though they were no longer in a romantic relationship.

"Finally, he returned to the Netherlands in 2011-2012, I thought 'ah, this guy is unclear, already far away'. 'Ah, I just want someone close'. It's normal to have a crush when filming. But sometimes we would video call and confide in each other. We didn't know we would get back together," she said.

Then in 2011, Dennis Kuiper returned to Indonesia for Nanda Gita. His visit at the time was only to meet and visit Nanda Gita's family.

4. Getting Married

"Until finally in 2016 he returned to Indonesia when I had become a yoga instructor. The process took a long time. We got back together, then met each other's families, and then he took me to the Netherlands to meet his family," she explained.

In 2018, Nanda Gita was married in a secret ceremony to Dennis Kuiper so they could live together in the Netherlands. Exactly one year later in 2019, they officially legalized their marriage in the country.

"We started living in the Netherlands in 2018 but we got married religiously. So we could live together only after one year of being legally married. He came back to Indonesia just to meet me and in January 2020, we had a wedding reception in Bali," she concluded.
