Dee Lestari Becomes a Judge in Novel Writing Competition, Total Prize of Rp 500 Million!

Kapanlagi.com - A social network initiated by a student from Malang named Kwikku has added a new feature to increase the interest in reading among the younger generation. The feature is a legal access to read novels and webtoons.

To enliven this feature, Kwikku collaborates with major publishers such as Bentang Pustaka, Noura Books, and Coconut Books to create a novel and webtoon writing competition.

The judges involved are not ordinary. For the novel category, they include Dee Lestari, A Fuadi, as well as Luluk HF, Faradita, and Bayu Permana who are known as Wattpad alumni writers.

As for webtoons, there are Faza Meonk, Hello Dita, Sweta Katika, and senior comic artists Lan Kelana and Gerdi WK. The total prize offered is a whopping Rp 500 million.

1. Leaked Manuscript that Captivates the Judges

Luluk HF, as a judge, revealed what kind of manuscript can capture his attention. Apparently, he looks at the first few pages and the author's ability to bring the characters to life.

Meanwhile, Faza Meonk, in addition to evaluating the story created for the webtoon, also looks at the artwork and coloring.

"I'm looking for a webtoon that can provide a fresh story, for example, a common theme but presented in a new way. In addition to the story, attractive artwork is the key point for the competition," said Faza during a press conference via Zoom on Thursday (24/4/202).

The novel writing and webtoon creation competition will be held from April 23 to July 23, 2020. The announcement of the winners will take place on August 17, 2020. Interested in participating?
