Detective Doctor Confident He Won't Be Detained Despite Being a Suspect, Here's Why

The presence of Detective Doctor or Doktif at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday (22/01/2026) drew public attention. Although arriving in a weak physical condition and needing to use a wheelchair, the person whose real name is Samira Farahnaz appeared calm in facing her legal status.

Doktif has been designated as a suspect for alleged defamation through electronic media. This case is a sequel to the report from Dr. Richard Lee, who feels harmed by the beauty product review content created by Doktif.

Although the suspect status has been attached, Doktif is confident that he will not be detained behind bars during the investigation process. This confidence is based on the article he is charged with having a relatively light penalty under criminal law.

"Meanwhile, regarding Doktif's current position, legally there will be no detention possible because the charges are under two years (ITE Law)," explained Doktif in a hoarse but firm voice.

He even compared his position with Richard Lee, who is also a suspect but in a different case. According to Doktif, his rival's position is much more vulnerable to being detained by the police due to the much heavier legal penalties he faces.

"Doktif reported a DRL (Richard Lee) with a threat of 12 years plus 5 years," he added, providing a comparison of their legal situations.

The feud between the two indeed started from mutual reporting. Richard Lee was reported for alleged violations of the Consumer Protection Law and the Health Law after his product was deemed not in accordance with claims or overclaims based on independent lab tests conducted by Doktif.

Doktif himself emphasized that his main intention was not to imprison Richard Lee. His main focus all along has been to provide education and protection to consumers so they can obtain safe products that meet promises.

"It is not solely his intention to imprison brother DRL, no. Here, Doktif is only asking for justice so that the rights of the community can be restored," he stated.

Confident that he would not be detained, Doktif promised to remain cooperative in undergoing the applicable legal procedures.
