Dinda Hauw Reveals the Pros and Cons of Acting in a Film with Rey Mbayang

Kapanlagi.com - Dinda Hauw and Rey Mbayang are once again paired as husband and wife in their latest film, WHAT REMAINS IS ONLY LOVE, which is scheduled to be released on KlikFilm this year. This is not the first time this celebrity couple has worked on the same project. In fact, they have starred in five films together, always in the roles of a couple.

For Dinda, working with her husband has its own advantages. Besides being able to spend more time together, they can also do preparations, such as reading the script and practicing acting at home.

"Actually, there are pros and cons. The pro is that we can work together, we can do readings at home together," said Dinda Hauw at the KlikFilm showcase event at XXI Epicentrum, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Friday (7/2/2025).

1. Challenge

However, there are challenges that must be faced, especially in distinguishing their characters in each film. Since they have often acted together, Dinda and Rey have to work harder so that they do not look like they are playing the same character as in the previous film.

"But if the downside is that it’s hard, because we’ve acted together before, with Rey, it’s like we still find it a bit difficult to change the characters," said Dinda.

With five films they have starred in together, the challenge becomes greater to make their characters feel fresh and unique in each project.

"Because again, maybe there are 5 films together with him, it’s like 'Oh no, how do we differentiate this next film?' So that it’s not the same as the previous film. So that’s the challenge," she explained.

2. Wife Facing Various Household Problems

In the film WHAT REMAINS IS ONLY LOVE, Dinda Hauw plays the role of Melati, a wife facing various household problems. One of Dinda's other challenges is acting alongside senior actress Niniek L. Karim, who plays Melati's mother.

This film raises various common household conflicts, including economic issues and pressure due to not having children yet.

"If my character is a woman, a wife who has family problems with her husband, one of which is not having children and other issues like economics, and so on," Dinda explained.

3. Playing the Audience's Emotions

Dinda also revealed that this film is packaged in a unique way that can evoke various emotions for the audience.

"Coincidentally (my character) lives with my mother, who is played by Niniek. It's a typical household story. But it's packaged uniquely and when you watch it, you might feel frustrated, but this is what happens in a typical household life," she concluded.

In addition to WHAT REMAINS IS ONLY LOVE, KlikFilm also introduces 18 other films that will be released throughout this year. Some of them include THE PHONE THAT NEVER RINGS, MOTHER'S SECRET ROOM, MOM'S BOYFRIEND, PRAYERS ABOVE THE HEAD, BEFORE DUSK ENDS, to THE LAST JOURNEY.
