Kapanlagi.com - Umay Shahab dared to appear behind the scenes as the director of the original series TrueID titled Hari Ini Kenapa, Naira? together with Sinemaku Pictures production house.
The 20-year-old man has long been immersed in the profession behind the scenes. His debut was trying to make a short film.
"Initially five years ago. Just learning, borrowing a friend's camera to take pictures. Then tried making short films a few years ago," said Umay Shahab when met at the press conference for the original series TrueID Hari Ini Kenapa, Naira?, in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (20/10).
Before diving directly behind the scenes, Umay admitted that he learned a lot from the skilled director Monty Tiwa. That's why, when he got the opportunity to be a director, he also invited Monty Tiwa to help him.
"Coincidentally, this project is supervised and greatly assisted by Mr. Monty. So, I just walked and tried something new that I had never done before. So, I was very committed to it," he said.
In her directorial debut, Umay was also assisted by Prilly Latuconsina, who also served as a producer and actress in the series.
"Because we have been friends for a long time and we have a good connection both in friendship and work. For me, as long as we are comfortable working together, the connection will continue," she explained.
"So I had many discussions with Prilly. I took some of her stories and incorporated them into the script. But the story about religious differences is related to society and very close to it," she concluded.
The series tells the love story of Naira (Prilly Latuconsina) and Adrian (Bryan Domani), a couple with different beliefs.
Their relationship has lasted for four years, and they have experienced many beautiful moments. However, problems arise when they enter the stage of marriage.
In addition to religious differences, other characters appear, such as Rakha (Irzan Faiq) and Alexa (Afifah Antares), which make the situation even more complicated. The original series 'Hari Ini Kenapa, Naira?' can already be watched on the TrueID streaming application for free since Wednesday (20/10).
