Director 'AUM!' Underestimated the Acting of Chicco Jerikho and Jefri Nichol, Why?

Kapanlagi.com - The film AUM! starring Chicco Jerikho and Jefri Nichol is set to be released to the public starting from September 30. The director, Ipoenk, revealed that initially he underestimated the involvement of these two actors in his film.

He did it intentionally so as not to be quickly satisfied with the acting of Chicco Jerikho and Jefri Nichol. Now, when his film is finished and ready to be shown through the Online Cinema application, Ipoenk is grateful that these two names are part of his work.

"When I got actors like Mas Chicco and Nichol, the first thing that came to my mind was that I couldn't believe they were in this film. I didn't believe it, because that was my treatment so that I wouldn't be too satisfied with their acting. So that I can push them to their maximum potential. That treatment applies to everyone, both the crew and the cast," said Ipoenk as quoted by KapanLagi.com during a virtual conference on Friday (24/9/2021).

"When we first met, I'm sorry, I doubted the quality of your acting, give me a new offer. But today I am grateful that they are the ones who are in it, not someone else," continued the person whose real name is Bambang Kuntara Murti.

In response to the director's initial reaction, Chicco Jerikho was actually excited. Because that's how every actor who enters a new production title is. The actor must transform into a blank canvas that can be filled with new things.

"However, no matter how, being an actor, when starting a new journey, a new title, we must empty ourselves. We have to start from scratch. We can't use the locks we used in previous films," said Chicco in the same session.

In the film AUM!, Chicco plays Panca, an idealistic director. According to him, this is a very interesting role because for the first time he acts as a director. During filming, he can feel the excitement when the director scolds the actors and crew.

"The script is interesting, I have never received it before. When I read it for the first time, there is a desire to try it. Then I can act as a director, scold the actors. It's also fun to be a director," said the father of one child.
