Don't Be Afraid to Get Married! Marcell Darwin Explains His Reasons

"In 'Nikah Yuk!' I play as Arya, Arya is a photographer who is the son of a wealthy person, he is constantly being told by his parents to get married. He said he wants to get married after being successful," said Marcell.

"There are some related incidents to our own experiences, where we are often asked 'when will you get married' 'wait until you're successful'. If we're not successful, we won't get married," he said during the Press Screening at CGV Grand Indonesia, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Thursday (30-1).

The 29-year-old actor born in Jakarta added that there is no need to fear getting married if one is ready. He believes that blessings from marriage will always be there.

"There are blessings. There's no need to fear marriage, blessings from marriage exist, and the career will continue. It doesn't mean that once we get married, our career will be over. That's completely wrong," explained Marcell.

"I have never been afraid like what Arya feels. For me, after a long relationship with my ex, I immediately look for someone else and then get married. I don't want to waste time anymore," he added.

The story of the film 'Let's Get Married!' itself is closely related to everyday life issues, especially regarding marriage, which is considered a sensitive topic. Benjamin Marcell Darwin, the full name of the man, seems to connect the correlation of this film with his personal experience.

"The lesson here is, don't be afraid to get married. Your career won't stop if you get married. You can still pursue it. Getting married doesn't mean being imprisoned, coming home to a wife and all that. Everything can still go on as if we're not married. The difference is that we have responsibilities and someone to support," he explained.
