Dressing Up with Clown-Style Animal Costumes, Band Wali Wants to Revive Children's Songs

Kapanlagi.com - After 21 years of working, Band Wali continues to show its existence in the Indonesian music industry, and this time the band has created a song with a different concept from their previous songs. Feeling saddened by the development of today's children, Wali presents a single titled Ondeskrayyy Ngaji (Ciluk Baa).

Packaged with a colorful music video concept and a cheerful atmosphere, Wali band members wear animal costumes. Not only that, in the song, Wali also wants to teach children to recite the Quran and learn the Arabic alphabet in a fun way.

"So, we have a mission to revive children's songs, which seem to be scarce in the music industry," said Apoy, the guitarist of Wali band when met in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Monday evening (30/11).

1. Getting Song Ideas in the Midst of Busyness

The creativity of the band Wali, led by Apoy (guitar), Faank (vocalist), Ovie (keyboard), and Tomi (drums), in creating songs seems boundless. They got the idea for the song in the midst of their busy schedule while shooting the soap opera titled Amanah Wali 4.

"It's an extraordinary challenge to balance between music and shooting the soap opera 'Amanah Wali 4'. The shooting schedule was extremely tight. But no matter what, we didn't want to lose our musical sense. So, during our breaks, we opened our laptops and made songs," he said.

2. Hoping Their Work Becomes a Valuable Legacy

The members of the band Wali hope that their work can become a valuable legacy for future generations. They want the song Ondeskrayyy Ngaji (Ciluk Baa) to be beneficial for children.

"We are aware that Wali won't always be here. At any moment, when Allah calls, there will be someone to continue our noble aspirations to build the civilization of the nation, even if it's only through music," concluded Apoy.
