Kapanlagi.com - Mayang Lucyana Fitri's facial care product review has caused a stir. She was reported by Gil Gladys, the director of the Tan Skin brand, after the review was made by the late Vanessa Angel's younger sister.

Mayang was reported to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Tuesday (12/4/2022). The charge was defamation through electronic media.

"We made a report to the police at around one o'clock at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. Reporting someone with the initials MLF, whom we suspect of posting something that constitutes defamation and slander," said Machi Ahmad, Gil Gladys' legal representative, who was met in the Sudirman area of Central Jakarta.

Mayang Lucyana Fitri is known to have posted a review on social media after using the facial care product for six hours. In her review, she appeared upset because her face had broken out.

Mayang's frustration was deemed excessive, especially since she clearly mentioned the trademark managed by Gil Gladys.

"As for the review, in my opinion, the words used are not appropriate. There are also many consumers we ask for feedback, and even if it's not suitable, they usually say the product is not suitable for their skin. This one says it's a breakout because of our skincare," said Gil in the same interview.

2. Opening Up Family Relations, But...

Gil Gladys' side actually had no intention of bringing their product review issue to the legal route. However, when opening up family relations, Mayang Lucyana Fitri sent two summons to Gil, who then sent a summons back resulting in a report.

"Before the summons, we had given the opportunity for mediation, the opportunity to apologize openly because she had slandered our product. But there was no good faith, instead I was summoned twice. Finally, we also sent two summons until it reached the legal route," explained Gil.

3. Known for Causing Breakouts

Due to Mayang Lucyana Fitri's review, Gil Gladys revealed that their product was indeed being talked about by many people. However, what was being talked about was the negative impact.

"Indeed, many people know us, but they know us because our product causes breakouts. This incident gives us a negative issue. So that's what I regret. The Tan Skin image from the beginning was good, we don't want to be known for that kind of sensation," said Gil.
