DTBTNS Season 2 Ends, Bringing Forward Talented Winner

Kapanlagi.com - The prestigious talent competition for young talented individuals in Indonesia, Dare To Be The Next Superstar (DTBTNS) Season 2, has found its winners. They are Mad Elephant from the music category and Arief Hadinata from the visual art category, who both won 1st place and received prizes worth Rp 100 million each. Not only that, they also earned the opportunity to perform at the Supermusic NEXTZone Live 360 Virtual Concert.

Supermusic representative, Nathaniel W Utomo, stated that the winners of Dare To Be The Next Superstar (DTBTNS) Season 2 from the music and visual art categories are the best in the eyes of the judges: Rekti Yoewono, Ronald Steven, and Nadia Yustina in the music category, as well as Oom Leo, Popo Mangun, Hana Madness, Bunga Fatia, and Streoflow in the visual art category. The improvement in quality and variety of works from the finalists made the determination of the DTBTNS Season 2 winners a heated process.

1. Finalists Present Their Best Work

The announcement of the DTBTNS Season 2 winner was broadcasted live during the final judging phase on Thursday (31/3) on the Supermusic Youtube channel and Superlive.id website. On that day, the finalists presented their best work to the judges to compete for a total prize of Rp 450 million. The music and visual art works, which were developed by the finalists from workshops and challenges from the judges, were then evaluated directly by experts to determine the winner.

Rekti Yoewono revealed that the quality and variety of the finalists' works, as well as the different judging criteria from each judge, made for heated debates at the judging table. However, after various considerations and reaching a consensus, the DTBTNS Season 2 winner from the music category was chosen.

“We determined the winner's eligibility based on the quality of songwriting and arrangement, the ability to perform live and showmanship, as well as the ability to entertain on stage. All finalists have their own strengths in each of these criteria and have their own eligibility,” said Rekti, who has been a DTBSTNS judge for two consecutive years.

2. Must be Held Again

This Mooner bass player hopes that the champions of DTBTNS Season 2 in the music and visual art categories have a positive spirit to create more widely with their potential. In addition, Rekti considers the Dare To Be The Next Superstar (DTBTNS) event to be mandatory to be held again next year, because it is the right place to capture talented talents from the country that have not yet emerged.

“I hope all champions can continue to work optimally on the advantages they have shown and hone the abilities that were lacking when participating in DTBTNS Season 2. I think it is very important to have DTBTNS Season 3 and hopefully the quality will increase to make it more exciting and interesting, even though as a judge, it might be more difficult to evaluate,” said Rekti with a laugh.

3. Grateful and Proud

Meanwhile, Mad Elephant feels grateful and proud to have been selected as the champion of DTBTNS Season 2 in the music category. Performing their song titled 'Spelling Bee' with a pop funk arrangement, Mad Elephant's character is so strong with a blend of harmony from each member and sweet vocals from the female vocalist. They successfully captured the hearts of the judges and received a flood of praise for their all-out and fun performance on stage during the final judging with tasteful choreography and music.

“We are very happy to be able to show our maximum performance and thank God we became champions. We were surprised when we found out that there were almost 1,000 submissions because the competition became even tighter, until the final judging round. In the future, we will continue to work and develop our talents. Thank you Supermusic for organizing such a cool event!,” said Mad Elephant.

4. Didn't Expect to Win Two Titles

Meanwhile, young artist from Semarang, Arief Hadinata didn't expect to win two titles at once, namely champion 1 and favorite champion in the DTBTNS Season 2 event for the visual art category. With a work titled 'Frog Longing for the Moon', he impressed all the judges with the visuals and story presented during the final judging. All four judges considered Arief's work perfect and flawless in terms of color composition, drawing, story translated through visuals, and having a strong character.

"Wow, I'm really touched and didn't expect to be champion 1 and also get the favorite champion. The other finalists are also good and more famous than me. Besides that, being able to become a finalist, having new friends, and collaborating on works together after this, getting to know the judges and committee, is a pride that cannot be valued with a prize amount," said Arief.
