Due to the Pandemic, Ikmal Tobing Failed to Meet Slipknot Drummer

Kapanlagi.com - Many plans were eventually canceled by musician Ikmal Tobing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, such as failing to meet Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg and failing to break the latest drumming record.

Originally, in 2020, Ikmal Tobing was supposed to break the record for the longest drumming. He wanted to surpass the record previously held by his own father, Jelly Tobing. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, Ikmal Tobing was forced to cancel the plan.

"In 2020, I was supposed to break the world record. I wanted to surpass my own father. But maybe because of this, the corona pandemic, maybe in 2021 or later when it's really conducive, I will break the drumming record," said Ikmal Tobing to Kapanlagi.com at Trans TV, South Jakarta, Wednesday (23/12/2020).

1. Canceled Meeting with Jay Weinberg

Not only that, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ikmal Tobing also failed to meet Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg at the Hammersonic 2020 event in March. Once again, due to the pandemic, the meeting had to be canceled.

"Last March, it didn't happen because honestly, I had already DM-ed with their new drummer but he hasn't been able to come yet because of this (pandemic)," he said.

2. Always There is Wisdom

Ikmal Tobing said, the Covid-19 pandemic is not only felt in Indonesia. However, this is felt by all other countries. For Ikmal, behind this pandemic disaster, there must be wisdom.

"2020 according to me, it's like actually we take the wisdom. Even though we don't want to, we all experience it, not only in Indonesia but the whole world experiences this disaster. But I feel like there is no year 2020. But everything has its wisdom," Ikmal concluded.
