Eid in a Rat Cell, Ammar Zoni Hopes Not to be Transferred to Nusakambangan

Actor Ammar Zoni is back in court for his drug case at the South Jakarta District Court. This session's agenda is the reading of the defense note or plea after he was sentenced to 9 years in prison by the Public Prosecutor.

In addition to focusing on legal matters, Ammar also shared about his condition while in detention, which has kept him strictly separated from the outside environment. The former husband of Irish Bella stated that he is in good health when appearing in the courtroom to fight for his fate. Here are the details.

He has prepared his defense materials thoroughly in order to obtain leniency from the panel of judges so that his sentence is not as severe as the prosecutor's demands.

Ammar appears to be trying to stay calm despite having to face a very long and exhausting legal process over the past few months.

"There is a lot of preparation, a lot indeed. Alhamdulillah, insyaallah. Alhamdulillah healthy," said Ammar Zoni at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (2/3/2026).

During his detention, Ammar was not placed in the general block with other inmates. He had to stay in isolation or what is known as a rat cell (selti).

"Yesterday in the cell (mouse cell) only. Yes, just in the cell. It's been 3 months now. Until now. That's why I ask for your prayers, hopefully all our affairs can be resolved smoothly, back with the family, and not flown to NK (Nusakambangan). Hopefully, just pray for me," said Ammar.

In his defense note, Ammar promised to be cooperative and speak honestly in front of the panel of judges. He plans to reveal several facts that have not been disclosed so far to be considered in deciding this case fairly.

"One of the important points is that I will reveal all kinds of secrets. Hopefully, this can be a consideration for the judges, all kinds of things," said Ammar.
