A farewell signal seemed to have been conveyed by the late Epy Kusnandar before passing away on Wednesday (3/12/2025). This was revealed by fellow actor, Oppie Kumis, who recalled an unusual moment while shooting together in Sukabumi.
Oppie recounted that Epy had shouted loudly after finishing a scene. That scream now feels like a premonition that became reality.

"When talking... This is my last scene, I yelled when in Sukabumi during filming. That was my last scene! Like that. But why did I say it like that?" said Oppie Kumis with a tone of surprise.
At that time, Oppie and the other crew members may not have thought much about those words. However, now, those words seem to be a farewell message from the legendary actor.
Oppie himself admitted that he had no special premonition before the departure of his friend. Epy was indeed known to be private about his illness and rarely complained to his colleagues.
"I never told him anything. He just said that his health was somewhat disturbed, but he never mentioned what was wrong. He never wanted to (talk about) his illness," explained Oppie.
Even though he often feels unwell on set, Epy always shows high professionalism. As soon as he hears the cue for action, he immediately acts flawlessly as if he doesn't feel any pain."He often says, I'm not feeling well, Pi. But he doesn't let that stop him, he just goes right into action again. That's just how it is," recalled Oppie.
On the same occasion, Oppie also praised the strength and loyalty of Epy's wife, Karina Ranau, who always stands by her husband until the end of his life, including managing Epy's schedule and taking care of his health on set.
"Okay, his wife is amazing, really amazing. Just yesterday in Sukabumi we were shooting together, and his wife was there supporting him," praised Oppie as he concluded the conversation.
