The Jakarta-born woman, affectionately known as Dewi, said that when she first started her business, her parents opposed her decision to become an entrepreneur.

Before Dewi started her business in slimming & skincare, she started her first business in the culinary field. However, Dewi encountered difficulties and her business did not go smoothly. Her parents were worried that her business would fail and urged her to become a contract employee at the local government.

Although she had conflicts with her parents due to different choices, Dewi decided to compromise and follow her parents' wishes. "I understand that every parent wants the best for their child. But instead of constantly arguing, I decided to compromise and start a career in the local government to reduce their burden," Dewi said.

However, Dewi did not give up easily, she continued to try and convince her parents that she could succeed in building a business. One thing that made Dewi more confident in her choice was when she decided to start an online business in the midst of her busy work at the local government.

"After I started working at the local government, I began to think about how to organize my strategy. How can I focus on building a business, but still be able to work at the local government without disrupting my main duties,” she said.

After going through various obstacles, Dewi finally succeeded in proving her success in running an online business and starting a business while working at the local government for more than a year. At that time, her parents did not know that Dewi was running an online business. However, from the income of her business, she managed to buy some property assets, as well as buy a car to be given specifically to her parents.

Dewi revealed that her father had wanted to own a sports car before retiring. Likewise, when her mother complained of back pain from having to ride a motorcycle every day. “I remember my father once said, would love to have a sports car before retiring. Can I? At that time, I said, ‘of course you can. Later, Wulan will buy it for you’,” said Dewi.

This was the moment when Dewi began to try to talk heart to heart, that she had actually started running an online business since the beginning of her work in the local government and wanted to focus on developing her business. When Dewi's parents saw the reality that her business was successful, they allowed her to resign from the local government in order to focus on developing her business until now.

3. Financial Management Becomes the Key

Dewi's online business is growing and becoming a choice for many consumers. She always strives to provide the best for her customers with her perseverance and tenacity. Not only successful in business, Dewi also provides tips for managing finances for the younger generation.

She emphasizes the importance of separating income and not using money to buy unnecessary needs. According to Dewi, investing in various instruments such as mutual funds, LM, and deposits is also very important to do early on.

"It's really important to be able to manage finances well and correctly. We can also better control which needs are really important and must be bought compared to needs that are just temporary desires," said Dewi.

4. Grateful

The education received from her parents also played an important role in Dewi's success. Although she initially found it difficult, Dewi is grateful because this education helped her become a tough person.

"My parents' education has always been very tough. Maybe because both of my parents were soldiers, but I am grateful because if my parents weren't as tough as they were, I might not be at this point now,” she said.

Dewi Wulan Sari's struggle has proven that firmness and strong determination can change existing limitations. And inspire the younger generation, especially women, to overcome any obstacles that may exist along the way to success.
