Evidence Video of Pandji Pragiwaksono is Just a TikTok Clip

The legal counsel of Pandji Pragiwaksono, Haris Azhar, highlighted the evidence used by investigators in the clarification process of the alleged religious blasphemy case involving his client. Haris lamented that the video shown to Pandji was not a complete recording of the Mens Rea performance, but rather short clips circulating on social media.

According to Haris, the use of clips from TikTok accounts could potentially strip away the original context of the material presented by Pandji. This is feared to create a misleading perception and burden his client.

"However, what was shown to Pandji earlier was not from the complete video that is over two hours long, and it was not from Netflix. But what was shown to Pandji also had a link from a TikTok account. Because this is a very serious matter, even though the material is just snippets," said Haris Azhar at the Metro Jaya Police, Friday (5/2/2026).

Haris hopes that the police can view this case more comprehensively by referring to authentic evidence. He also requests police assistance to clarify the misunderstandings arising from the circulation of those incomplete video snippets.

"So it would be good to say here that perhaps what Pandji meant is that it would also be good if the police also see those accounts as accounts that do not fully represent or are used as grounds for criminal prosecution," he added.

In the examination, Pandji also explained the meaning behind the title "Mens Rea" that he chose. The legal term meaning "evil intent" is used by Pandji to criticize those who pursue public office with insincere motivations.

"Pandji actually uses the term 'Mens Rea' to reveal that, for about two hours, Pandji in 'Mens Rea' reveals that there might be evil intent in every story, there is a common thread. The common thread is that there might be evil intent from people who pursue or hold office," explained Haris.

This case emerged after the Young Generation of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and the Young Alliance of Muhammadiyah reported Pandji to the police on January 8, 2026, for alleged religious defamation in his stand-up comedy material.

However, both PBNU and PP Muhammadiyah themselves denied that they have an organization that reported Pandji to the Metro Jaya Police. Nevertheless, the report is still ongoing and Pandji is being intensely questioned by the police.
