Pandji Pragiwaksono Attends Clarification Agenda Related to MENS REA Report

Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono finally answered the call of the Metro Jaya Police regarding the reports that implicated his name. Together with his lawyer, Haris Azhar, Pandji arrived at the police headquarters on Friday morning. His presence this time was not for a formal examination but for a clarification agenda regarding several reports addressed to him.

The material from the stand-up comedy performance titled MENS REA presented by Pandji has indeed sparked controversy. Several parties have reported him for alleged religious defamation and other sensitive issues. However, Pandji appeared relaxed while facing the crowd of media personnel who had been waiting for him.

"What will be conveyed will be more exciting and enjoyable after going through the process. We will meet again in the afternoon. Okay. Bye, see you later this afternoon," he said when met at the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta, Friday (5/2/2026).

Haris Azhar as the legal counsel explained that today's agenda is more of a discussion and exchange of information with the police. There is no strict mechanism like the submission of evidence or intensive examination as with suspects.

"This morning we came as per the previous news, this is a clarification invitation. Clarification is not a very strict mechanism, it's still more of a casual chat from the police to us," explained Haris Azhar.

This meeting is expected to provide a mutual understanding between the Pandji side and the police. Pandji also wants to know in detail about the five reports that have been submitted, including who the reporters are and what points are being raised.

"We will try to discuss, including the points that the police want to clarify with Pandji. Pandji also wants to clarify who the five are and what has been reported," added Haris.

Previously, Pandji had a meeting with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to clarify the content of his comedy. The results of that meeting are also planned to be conveyed to the investigators as consideration material.

Pandji Pragiwaksono himself chose to be reserved before entering the investigator's room. He only smiled and promised to provide more complete information after the clarification process is finished later this afternoon.
