[Exclusive Interview] WOLF HOWL HARMONY Reveals New EP and Hopes to Perform in Indonesia

Kapanlagi.com - Not wanting to be outdone by Korea, Japan is currently starting to introduce a series of their top idol groups globally. Among them, there is one name that stands out the most, namely WOLF HOWL HARMONY from EXILE TRIBE. They are under the management of LDH JAPAN and contracted by the label Rhythm Zone.

WOLF HOWL HARMONY consists of 4 members; RYOJI, SUZUKI, GHEE, and HIROTO. This band, formed in 2022, is the first EXILE TRIBE group that specializes not in dance performance.

Recently, KapanLagi had a special opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with the four members of WOLF HOWL HARMONY. Check out the full interview below..

1. The Beginning of WOLF HOWL HARMONY's Debut

What does the name WOLF HOWL HARMONY mean and why choose this name?

RYOJI: We, WOLF HOWL HARMONY, are a group consisting of four "lone wolves". Through each of our voices, our songs, and the life journeys we have gone through, we unite to create harmony in voice and life itself.

How did the story of this boy group begin?

HIROTO: We are a group formed through an audition project called iCON Z. GHEE and I participated from the beginning of Chapter 1 of iCON Z, but we were eliminated once. After that, two other members, who were already active as part of DEEP SQUAD, joined us, and we auditioned together for a new project. That's how the group was formed until we finally succeeded in debuting.

How would you describe the music of WOLF HOWL HARMONY?

GHEE: If I had to describe WOLF HOWL HARMONY's music in one word... just one word? I would choose "wave".
The reason is that our songs express waves of emotion, as well as the transitions and ups and downs in our lives. We reflect such waves into our music, so I choose the word "wave".

2. WOLF HOWL HARMONY Talks About Indonesia

In the near future, do you have any new releases that you are preparing?

SUZUKI: Currently, we are preparing to release our first EP titled TERA. It will contain two new songs: one titled Gachi Funk and the other titled One Minute.

Are there any concerts coming up soon?

RYOJI: WOLF HOWL HARMONY plans to hold our own solo concert tour in the winter of 2026.

Are there plans to hold a concert in Indonesia?

HIROTO: Not officially scheduled yet, but we are very interested in Indonesia. We really want to visit and perform live there.

RYOJI: We have never been there before, right?

SUZUKI: Yes! We really want to go to Indonesia this year.

HIROTO: We really, really want to go! If it happens, make sure you come to watch our live show! Promise, okay?

Have you ever been to Indonesia before? What do you know about Indonesia?

GHEE: We have never been to Indonesia before, even for personal matters. But when I think of Indonesia, I really associate it with an image like a resort. Bali, for example? I really want to visit. I also have the impression that the people there are very friendly and kind.

SUZUKI: I also have the image that the food is delicious.

RYOJI: We also have fans who comment, "From Indonesia," so we really want to go and meet them!

SUZUKI: Regarding Indonesian artist Shakira Jasmine, we first met her at MUSIC MATTERS, Singapore. We met there, and since then we've been friends. When Shakira Jasmine came to Tokyo, it happened that we were having a show, and she came to see our performance.

3. Favorite Moments and Songs of WOLF HOWL HARMONY

So far, what has been the best moment of WOLF HOWL HARMONY?

RYOJI: For WOLF HOWL HARMONY, I think the most defining moment was when we formed this group and our debut decision was made. I still remember that moment very clearly, as if it happened just yesterday.

What is your favorite song in WOLF HOWL HARMONY and why?

RYOJI: My favorite song is Frozen Butterfly which has a strong Y2K style sound vibe. Personally, I really love Y2K and the Heisei era atmosphere, and this song combines that kind of sound approach with a contemporary modern touch. That's why I really like it. I also want us to continue exploring more Y2K-inspired sounds in the future.

GHEE: Right now, I really like Gachi Funk. I keep thinking about how we can get everyone excited during the show. This time, I was also involved in the production process for the first time, and I created this song while thinking a lot about all of you. So I would be very happy if this song could excite people at our concert, and I want us all to cheer and have fun together.

SUZUKI: For me, LOVE RED. This is our first song, and we have performed it even before our debut. Our fans' name is also 'LOVERED', which comes from the same name. That’s how meaningful this song is to us. This song holds so many memories and is very special, so I chose it.

HIROTO: For me, Marmalade. As a group, we perform many sharp and edgy songs like Gachi Funk and Bossa Bosa, but with Marmalade, we show a softer side. I would be very happy if more people could see that we are also capable of showing a wide range (of abilities) like that.
