Kapanlagi.com - Singer Erdian Aji Prihartanto, or familiarly known as Anji, is currently undergoing drug rehabilitation at the Drug Dependence Hospital (RSKO), East Jakarta. Despite undergoing rehabilitation, the legal process against Anji, who is involved in a drug abuse case, continues.
Anji had his first trial at the West Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/9/2021). In the trial, which was scheduled for the reading of the indictment, the singer of the song 'Dia' was not accompanied by a lawyer. This raised questions from the panel of judges led by Chief Judge Yulisar, SH, MH.
"Do you want to be accompanied by legal counsel?" asked the judge, to which Anji directly answered.
"I am alone (without a lawyer), Your Honor," replied Anji.
"Okay, it's not a problem even though according to the Law, you have the right to be accompanied by legal counsel. Please let the prosecutor read the indictment," said the judge.
In the scheduled hearing for the reading of the charges, the Public Prosecutor accused Anji under Article 111 and 127 of Law No. 35 of 2009, with a maximum penalty of 12 years imprisonment.
"The maximum penalty is 12 years imprisonment," said the Public Prosecutor.
After the Public Prosecutor read the charges, the Panel of Judges, chaired by Yulisar, SH, MH, asked Anji, "Do you accept the Prosecutor's charges?" Yulisar asked.
"I accept, Your Honor," Anji replied.
Since Anji accepts the charges, the Panel of Judges will proceed directly to the examination of the core issue with the agenda of listening to witness testimonies from the Public Prosecutor's side on Wednesday next week, September 22, 2021.
As known, Anji became a defendant in a drug abuse case after previously being arrested by the narcotics unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police on Friday (11/6/2021).
