Facts About Ronal Surapradja's Divorce Trial, Negotiating Iddah Maintenance and Mut'ah - Refusing to Share Land

Kapanlagi.com - The divorce hearing filed by comedian Ronal Surapradja against his wife named Seruni Purnamasari was held at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Thursday (21/4/2022). Both parties were present with their respective legal representatives in the mediation agenda during the trial.

After the trial, Seruni's legal representative revealed something funny. Ronal was said to have renegotiated the iddah and mut'ah maintenance which originally amounted to Rp 1.7 billion to only Rp 80 million.

"This is funny, in the divorce petition submitted, there is iddah and mut'ah maintenance of 1.7 billion. That is his capability, not our request at all. But during the negotiation, he only agreed to give Rp 80 million," said Abdul Hamim Jauzie, Seruni's legal representative, after the trial.

1. Negotiating Iddah and Mut'ah Maintenance

Seruni Purnamasari does not know the reason behind the change in the iddah and mut'ah maintenance amount. Nevertheless, Runi accepted it so that the divorce process could be completed quickly.

"I don't know the reason for the renegotiation, he just wanted to revise it during the mediation. So he was the one who agreed to the previous amount, then he himself changed it. His capability of 1.7 billion was not his wife's request. Then it went down to Rp 80 million," added Abdul Hamim Jauzie.

2. Does Not Want to Divide Land

Different from matters of iddah and mut'ah provisions, Seruni Purnamasari wants the division of gono gini assets. Because there is a matter of dividing land that Ronal Surapradja cannot afford.

"In the process before the trial, Mr. Ronal was not willing to divide the land. He couldn't, he said. So later we will file a counter lawsuit so that this property issue can be resolved at once," explained Abdul Hamim Jauzie.

3. Ronal Surapradja Moves Quickly

Ronal Surapradja filed for divorce from Seruni Purnamasari after 13 years of marriage. Many speculations have emerged as to what caused Seruni to be divorced, but it turns out that initially it was Seruni who wanted a divorce.

"This trial was filed earlier by Mr. Ronal, even though his wife originally wanted to file it. This needs to be conveyed because his wife's perception is why she was divorced. A perception that has developed in such a way," emphasized Abdul Hamim Jauzie.
