Fariz RM Officially Free from Prison, Has Repented and Is Ready to Return to Work

Senior musician Fariz RM has officially breathed free air after completing his prison sentence due to a drug abuse case that ensnared him. The detention of this legendary musician began when he was arrested in February 2025, and he is estimated to have been released from behind bars between February 17 and 19, 2026.

This happy news was confirmed directly by Fariz RM's legal counsel, Deolipa Yumara, to the media. Currently, the senior musician is reported to be enjoying his freedom in very good health and feels very happy to be reunited with his family.

"Having breathed free air, Fariz RM. So, well, we only use the knowledge of the calendar," said Deolipa Yumara in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, Saturday (21/02/206).

Deolipa explained that her client feels very grateful to have gone through difficult times behind bars. In addition to being physically fit, Fariz RM is also said to have a new spirit to rebuild his life without the shadow of drugs. "(Fariz RM) is free, healthy, happy," she said.

During his sentence, Fariz RM is said to have reflected a lot and learned valuable lessons from past mistakes. The musician known for the song Barcelona has now made a firm decision to focus on the music world that has made his name.

"He has learned his lesson, he has repented. So later there will be a time for him to hold a press conference with a music event that he will organize," said Deolipa Yumara.

Although his movement is limited while in prison, Fariz RM's creativity has apparently never faded. He remains active in creating new melodies in his mind due to a deep longing to hold musical instruments again.

"But all those song ideas, those melody ideas are in his head, spinning around in his head," explained Deolipa.

As a reminder, Fariz RM was previously sentenced to 10 months in prison by the South Jakarta District Court in September 2025 for drug abuse of methamphetamine. In addition to physical punishment, he is also required to pay a fine of Rp800 million as part of the legal consequences he must face.
