Father Remembers Vidi Aldiano's Profound Message: He Just Wanted to Live

The father of the late Vidi Aldiano, Harry Kiss, was seen visiting his son's grave at the Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU) ahead of Vidi's birthday, which falls on March 29.

His visit this time aimed to ensure that the grave was tidy before the series of commemoration events titled "Vidi Lives On" began with loyal fans known as Vidies.

Harry Kiss appeared wearing a blue scarf, a color closely associated with the Vidi Aldiano fan community. At his son's grave, beautiful blue flowers were also neatly arranged, specially prepared to welcome the birthday of the pride of the nation. Harry explained that there would be a pilgrimage agenda on Sunday morning, exactly on Vidi's birthday.

"Tomorrow morning, God willing, the Vidies, we have arranged an event for tomorrow morning to come here (to the grave) to visit Vidi's future home, so to speak," said Harry Kiss when met at the Tanah Kusir TPU, South Jakarta, Saturday (28/3/2026).

The condition of Vidi Aldiano's grave currently looks very beautiful with the arrangement of marble and well-maintained grass. Harry Kiss also expressed appreciation to the grave staff who have helped maintain the authenticity of his son's final resting place. He wants to ensure that when fans come to visit, the atmosphere around the grave feels comfortable and peaceful.

Before the pilgrimage agenda took place on Sunday morning, Harry Kiss had previously prepared a series of prayer events at the Nurul Hidayah Mosque. The event consisted of a joint prayer held on Saturday night after the Isha prayer.

"But if there is a prayer gathering at the Nurul Hidayah Mosque tonight, it's nearby as well. Tonight there will be meatballs if you come, hopefully, there will still be some meatballs left," he said.

Harry also reminisced about a short but very profound message from Vidi Aldiano during his lifetime. The message was related to Vidi's fighting spirit to keep going amidst the health challenges he faced. Those simple words have now become motivation for family and friends to continue to keep Vidi's spirit and works alive.

"When asked by Uncle Deddy, 'Vid, what do you want?', the answer was just one word: Life. So we just continue on," said Harry Kiss.

In previous years, Vidi Aldiano's birthday was usually celebrated with a family feast. However, this year, the commemoration of the son's birthday was shifted to a spiritual moment through prayers at the mosque and a pilgrimage with the Vidies at the cemetery. Harry felt it was important to still celebrate his child's birthday even in a very different atmosphere.

"Usually family gatherings and the like, but tomorrow we will celebrate it here," he concluded. Rest in peace, Vidi Aldiano.
