Fedi Nuril Reveals the Importance of Royalties for Film Actors: It Should Be Discussed at the Beginning

However, he emphasized that discussions about royalties should be conducted from the beginning of the project, not in the middle or after the film has started to succeed. This is to maintain a sense of fairness among all parties involved.

"If it's in the middle, it's not fair because there was no prior discussion," he added. He also reminded that royalties should be proposed professionally through transparent business negotiations.

When asked whether new rules are needed to ensure the existence of royalties, Fedi replied that it all depends on the initiative of the producers. He appreciates producers who are willing to voluntarily provide royalties, but suggests that film actors should not just wait.

"Hoping from the producers if they initiate it is very generous, but if we just wait, it's also not quite right. So business negotiations can be proposed at the beginning," Fedi explained.

Fedi's personal experience also proves the importance of early negotiation. He admitted to having attempted to discuss royalties from the beginning of the project, including for the famous film he starred in, AYAT AYAT CINTA.

"I tried at the beginning, the results were for myself first," he revealed without providing further details.

However, Fedi acknowledged that the process of negotiating royalties is not always easy. He mentioned that the initial capital from producers or investors often becomes a primary consideration, as the film industry carries high risks.

"The capital from producers or investors is large, the risks are high, many lose more than they gain. So just negotiating or proposing is not a problem," Fedi concluded his statement.

As an actor who has long been involved in the film industry, Fedi hopes that the royalty system can become a more open topic for discussion in the future.
