Filled with the busyness of the funeral home, Kikan Cokelat feels that she has not yet realized that her mother has passed away

This is what Kikan Namara, the vocalist of the band Cokelat, felt after losing her mother, Indira Damayanti, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. When met after the funeral procession of her mother at TPU Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, Wednesday (9/8), Kikan said that she still hasn't realized that her mother has passed away.

She feels this way because Kikan is busy taking care of various things, from the wake of her mother to the burial. To the point that she hasn't realized her sense of loss.

Although she is still unaware that her mother has passed away, it cannot be denied by Kikan that sadness cannot be avoided when she sees various things that her late mother liked at home. Of course, for Kikan, her mother's figure cannot be replaced by anything.

"Honestly, I am sure that there are people who have experienced the loss of their parents or family members. From yesterday until now, maybe I haven't felt the loss too much because my activities have been focused on preparing for my mother's funeral and meeting many people," said Kikan Cokelat.

"But I am sure that once people have gone home and returned to my mother's house, her habits and favorite spots, I am sure I will feel the sadness. I am aware that my mother is no longer here and that I have lost her. The figure of my mother will never be replaced," she continued.

As a child, Kikan considered the late Indira Damayanti as the sun that always gave light to her children.

"So I think this is one of the biggest losses in my life. But whatever it is, I believe this is Allah's decree. If I were to compare my mother to something, it would be like sunlight. Yes, she is the source of life," said Kinan Cokelat.

A mother figure can never be replaced by anyone. Kikan is convinced that the departure of her mother has become the best path from the Creator.
