This 68-year-old man is known as a child psychologist and the Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection. 1. Becoming a Psychology Student

Initially, Kak Seto decided to move to Jakarta when he was not accepted into the Medical department. Without any preparation or skills, he decided to live a random life while waiting for the next Medical test. Unfortunately, he was rejected again by the department he desired.

Eventually, he chose to enter the Psychology department at the University of Indonesia upon the suggestion of the late Mr. Kasur. Mr. Kasur was someone Kak Seto knew since he became an assistant to the owner of a kindergarten. It was from here that he began to learn to love the world of education.

2. Host of Various Children's Events

From his job as Mr. Kasur's assistant, Kak Seto started his first decade in the world of children. He also joined the TVRI program called ANEKA RIA ANAK-ANAK together with Kak Henny Purwonegoro.

In the show, they started storytelling, singing, and even performing magic tricks for children. He hosted the program from 1978 to 1981.

3. Having Twin Siblings

Many people don't know that Kak Seto actually has a twin sibling. Yup, his twin's name is Kresno Mulyadi. Kak Seto was born 5 minutes before Kresno.

From their life as twin siblings, this became his inspiration to establish the Nakula Sadewa Foundation. Interestingly, this foundation is associated with the number 2, just like the number of twin siblings.

This foundation was established on the 22nd of February 1984. February is the second month, and when you add up the digits of 1984, the result is 22. They also signed the ownership of this foundation in front of a Notary at 22:22:22.

It is located on Jalan Patiunus no. 22 Kemayoran Baru, with a capital of Rp 222,222 and witnessed by 2 pairs of twin children.

4. Creator of Si Komo

Throughout his career in the field of education, Kak Seto had thought of creating a character that could balance the creativity and imagination of children. That's when the character Si Komo was created.

The name Komo comes from an indigenous Indonesian animal, the Komodo. Since its appearance in various media, Si Komo has become a friend and idol for Indonesian children at that time. It was through the character Si Komo that Kak Seto became more well-known.

5. Achieving Many Awards

Kak Seto's success was accompanied by numerous awards he received. One of the awards he received was The Golden Balloon Award, New York: Social Activity category from the World Children's Day Foundation & UNICEF. He received this award in 1989.

The latest award received by Kak Seto is the Men's Obsession Award. He received this award in 2006.

6. Publish Books and Novels

Kak Seto has also said that writing is one of his hobbies. He has published a book titled ANAKKU, Sahabatku, dan Guruku (My Child, My Friend, and My Teacher). This book discusses Kak Seto's experiences in understanding and raising his children.

In addition, he has also written a novel titled Kakak Batik (Batik Sister). In this novel, he tells about his dreams before becoming a student. This novel has the meaning that life is like a batik cloth, with all its twists and turns leading to happiness.

7. The Initiator of Home Schooling

In 2004, Kak Seto started implementing the home schooling education system for his eldest daughter, Minuk. At that time, she had a traumatic experience studying in a formal school.

Finally, in 2007, Kak Seto successfully established Home Schooling Kak Seto. This idea was the first decade of the emergence of non-formal and informal education learning methods.

8. 50 Years of Service in the World of Children

Kak Seto currently serves as the Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection since 1998. He admits that his career is supported by the message of the late great teacher, Mr. Kasur. The message is to continue his struggle in the world of children from Sabang to Merauke.

On April 4th, Kak Seto celebrated his 50 years of service in the world of children. He also created a motto that says, "A Great Nation is a Nation that Loves and Protects Children."
