Floods Surrounding Prevent Tina Toon's Family from Leaving the House

Kapanlagi.com - Jakarta and its surrounding areas are once again hit by floods that have been pouring since Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning. Several points inhabited by Indonesian celebrities are also affected, including Tina Toon.

Actually, Tina lives in a safe apartment away from the flood's impact. However, at the moment, she and her family are gathered at her grandmother's house in North Jakarta and cannot go anywhere because the area around her house is surrounded by water.

"I just celebrated the new year, so I'm gathering at my grandma's house. Now I can't go out because I'm isolated by the flood. The house itself is not flooded because it's a bit higher, but the exit access is blocked," said Tina when contacted by the media via Whatsapp message, on Wednesday (1/1/2020).

The former child singer added, "If we want to go out, we have to use a rubber boat or a fire truck. The flood's height is as low as the hips or as high as the knees," she explained.

Tina Toon, who is currently serving as a member of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), also expressed concern about the flood that hit the capital city. Through social media, she shared important telephone numbers in case people need help due to the impact of the flood.

"I will help through social media. I am also coordinating with the DKI BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), the Fire Department, and the Public Order Agency, which happen to be my working partners. So we are evacuating as much as possible. We are also coordinating to see if the emergency posts are ready to direct food and other necessities," she concluded.
