Four Years of Struggling Against Kidney Failure, Andhika Pratama Tells the Moments of His Mother-in-Law's Departure

Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from the family of Andhika Pratama and Ussy Sulistiawaty. Hj. Nilla Rosita, Andhika's mother-in-law, passed away on Tuesday morning (12/10/2024) at 05:15 WIB. Andhika stated that the deceased had been struggling with kidney disease for the past four years.

Her health condition had improved at times, but in recent months it often fluctuated, requiring her to undergo intensive treatment in the hospital repeatedly. "Mama has indeed been ill for quite a long time, about 4 years, but the condition in the last few months has been unstable," said Andhika Pratama in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/10/2024).

"So she had to be hospitalized several times. And the last time, before she passed away, she was in the hospital because her condition was unstable again, due to the kidney disease she had been suffering from for a long time," he added.

1. Chronology of Ussy and Andhika Being Informed of Mother's Passing

Andhika recounts the moment when his mother-in-law took her last breath. At that time, he and his wife were about to go exercise when they received news that his mother’s condition had worsened.

"This morning around 05:15 AM (the time of passing), because the ones accompanying her were coincidentally her husband, one of the nurses, and a family member, there were three people with her. This morning everyone was still at home. I happened to be about to exercise with Ussy, just as we were about to leave, suddenly we got a call that we had to go to the hospital because her condition suddenly dropped. Not long after we were on the road, we were informed that mom had passed away," he added.

2. Struggling for 4 Years

For the past four years, the late mother’s struggle against her illness has been extraordinary. Nevertheless, he feels grateful because his mother had a strong fighting spirit.

"There have been several times in the last four years when her condition was quite severe, needing special treatment. But as a family, we are grateful that mom had the physical and mental strength to bear that for 4 years," said Andhika.

"Many people with the same illness do not have the endurance for that long, but mom lasted 4 years for the people around her. I think that is a great strength," he continued.

3. Becoming a Second Mother for Andhika

For Andhika, Hj. Nilla Rosita is more than just a mother-in-law. He refers to her as a second mother who has always been a source of inspiration and advice. He expressed that his mom was often involved in various important family decisions because of her highly respected position.

"Yes, that's my mother-in-law. Ever since I moved away and started my relationship with Ussy, I consider her my second mother here. She has also become my role model, besides my mother in Malang, since we are quite far apart. So whatever happens, sometimes we involve mama in every decision we make," he concluded.
