11 Portraits of Dede Yusuf Reveal the Illness of His Late Mother, Who Survived 59 Days in ICU - Her Breath Occasionally Stopped

Kapanlagi.com - Dede Yusuf reminisces about the long journey of his mother, Siti Rahayu Effendi, in facing the illness she suffered until she passed away on Thursday (28/11/2024).

According to Dede, his mother's illness began with uncontrolled hypertension. This condition triggered serious complications, ranging from stroke, heart problems, to eventually affecting kidney function.

"Today, after going through a process of 59 days, my mother held on in the ICU until God called her," said Dede Yusuf at TPU Jeruk Purut, South Jakarta, on Thursday (28/11/2024).

He also recounted the moment he learned his mother's condition had worsened. While attending a swearing-in event, he received a video call early in the morning.

"Suddenly a video call, saying they couldn't hold on anymore. I immediately asked to go to the hospital, but when we got there, there was no one available. Their breath seemed to fade away, then they were revived with CPR, and came back," said Dede.

Although they were stable and conscious enough to communicate via video call, the mother's condition continued to decline due to kidney failure. Dede revealed that for almost two months in the ICU, the family chose not to inform many people about the mother's condition.

"We really did not inform many people because we thought it was not appropriate to have visitors," he explained.

However, the news of the mother's passing spread quickly. Many relatives, from officials to senior artists, came to pay their last respects. Not only that, Siti Rahayu is also remembered as a person who was active in various social and religious activities.

"My mother often built mosques along with her study groups, many friends from the gathering were present, as well as friends from the entertainment industry," Dede revealed.

The presence of many people at the funeral is evidence of the great influence and kindness that the mother instilled during her lifetime.

Although it was difficult, Dede and the family remained strong in facing the departure of their mother. He even ensured that the whole family had accepted it before their mother passed away.

"We tried to ask everyone if they had accepted it or not. It turned out that there was still one of my siblings who had not accepted it, acceptance only came about three days ago," he explained.

The body of Siti Rahayu Effendi was buried at TPU Jeruk Purut, South Jakarta. The procession arrived at the location at 1:40 PM WIB. A somber atmosphere enveloped the burial ceremony attended by family, relatives, and friends of the deceased.

"Once again, we thank everyone, including friends from the media who have come," concluded Dede Yusuf.
