From Funny to Troublesome, Janita Gabriela Reveals the Fun of Caring for a Sugar Glider

Kapanlagi.com - Janita Gabriela has an interesting experience with pets. Instead of a dog or cat like most people, Janita decided to keep a sugar glider, a tiny animal that can glide through the air.

This decision started from an unexpected moment while she was walking around in a mall. She admitted she had never touched a sugar glider before and was immediately captivated when she tried it.

"So at that time I was walking around the mall and there was a pet fair. I was looking at dogs, and then suddenly I was stopped by someone selling sugar gliders," said Janita when met in South Jakarta on Sunday (4/5).

"Then I held it and it was so cute, and when I asked the price it was quite affordable, around 900 thousand already included a cage and other things," she continued.

However, the decision to keep a sugar glider was not as easy as it seemed. Janita initially thought the care would be simple, but in reality, it was much more complicated than she expected.

"Then when I asked about the care, they said it was easy, but it turns out it’s really hard to take care of a sugar glider because it is a wild animal that is kept," said Janita.

1. Having Two Sugar Gliders

According to her, sugar gliders need a long process of approach to become tame. These animals can bite, get angry, and even be very defensive if they are not used to their owners.

"I have been taking care of the sugar glider for over a week now, and there are still some that are not tame, but one of them is already tame," she explained.

Now, Janita has two sugar gliders named Cici and Luna. They both have different characters, making the experience of keeping them even more exciting.

"I have 2 sugar gliders named Cici and Luna. She admitted that she had never touched a sugar glider before and was immediately captivated when she tried it. Well, Cici is still a bit wild, likes to bite, and often escapes and jumps around," Janita said with a laugh.

2. Enjoy the Moments Despite the Challenges

Even though there are challenges in taking care of them, Janita still enjoys the moments with her pets. She describes both of their faces as very cute and adorable. "They have funny faces, very cute, super charming, and they're so small, just that small," she said.

One of the main attractions of sugar gliders, according to Janita, is their ability to 'fly'. These animals have a membrane between their legs that allows them to glide from one point to another.

"It’s just so cute to see them flying, their legs look like they’re using something to fly," she said enthusiastically.

Janita Gabriela's story can be an inspiration for animal lovers who want to try a new experience. However, she reminds that sugar gliders still need extra attention and patience to adapt well to their home environment.
