Surprising news comes from Garena. The online game developer company has announced the adaptation of Free Fire into an anime. The development of the anime series has been prepared by collaborating with trusted partners.

Free Fire is one of the most popular mobile battle royale games in the world. This game has been recorded as the most downloaded battle royale game in 2022 and 2023. Even until Tuesday (14/5/2024), Free Fire has reached a peak Daily Active Users (DAU) of 100 million users worldwide.

Free Fire game indeed has many characters. Therefore, it is not surprising that this opportunity is used to create an anime series or even a wider project.

Anime adaptations of games have become common. However, most games that receive animation projects usually have an anime-style visual. Some titles include Azure Lane, Arknights, Blue Archive, and Genshin Impact. So, what are the details of the Free Fire anime?

1. Collaboration with Studio Kadokawa

Based on official information from Garena Indonesia, the anime adaptation of Free Fire will be produced by Studio Kadokawa. More specifically, Garena is collaborating with Kadokawa Qingyu, which is a foreign branch. Kadokawa Qingyu animation studio will serve as the production manager in the Free Fire anime project.

The anime adaptation of Free Fire is expected to provide a new experience for fans worldwide. The anime is planned to be released globally. Unfortunately, there is no exact date for the release of this collaboration project between Garena and Kadokawa.

Meanwhile, Kadokawa Corporation is known as a developer of entertainment in the form of publications, videos, and games. Some anime productions by Kadokawa Studio include BUNGO STRAY DOGS, MADE IN ABYSS, OVERLORD, and famous films like YOUR NAME and SUZUME.

Players will be deployed by plane and dropped on a map to search for weapons and survival equipment. Garena Free Fire can be downloaded and played for free on Android to iOS. There are two game titles available, namely Free Fire and Free Fire MAX. Free Fire MAX is an upgraded version with better gameplay experience and visuals.
