The 2026 World Cup fever is also felt by Giorgino Abraham. The Dutch-Indonesian actor admits he already has a favorite team, although he harbors some doubts about his favorite country's chances of winning the title.

Giorgino's love for the Dutch national team is not without reason. The actor who plays Arman in the series LOVE & 10 MILLION DOLLARS was born in the Netherlands and grew up in a family environment that has long supported the Oranje squad.

"I actually always support the Netherlands. Yes, I have a historical connection, I was born in the Netherlands and my family has supported the Netherlands since I was little. Especially my father's family from Manado, all of them are orange-blooded. And that has flowed since I was little, so I am used to the Dutch national team," said Giorgino Abraham when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (4/6/2026).

Although he has a strong emotional bond with the Netherlands, the 31-year-old man is not very optimistic about the team's chances in this World Cup. According to him, the Netherlands often fails to take advantage of great opportunities when competing at the highest level.

This feeling of pessimism grew stronger after the Netherlands suffered a defeat in a friendly match ahead of the tournament. Giorgino believes there are still issues that need to be addressed by Ronald Koeman's team."Last night I watched the Netherlands against Algeria, they lost 1-0. Hehe. It's just a friendly, but I hope they can do better in the future," he said.

The film and series star even believes that excessive self-confidence often becomes a stumbling block for the Netherlands. He sees this as potentially hindering the team's progress when facing pressure in major tournaments. "But in my opinion, the Netherlands always has one problem, which is when they... they tend to be quite arrogant. So they have high self-confidence and arrogance. And I think that endangers a team when we already feel ahead," he said.

For that reason, Giorgino started looking at other teams that had a chance to lift the championship trophy. His choice fell on Portugal, which is still bolstered by megastar Cristiano Ronaldo."But for this year's World Cup, besides the Netherlands, I support Portugal because I really want Cristiano Ronaldo to lift the trophy. That's all, I could cry if he lifts the trophy," he said.

Behind his support for Portugal, Giorgino still holds emotional memories with the Netherlands. One of the most memorable moments was when Oranje failed to win the World Cup after losing to Spain in the final.

"There is. That was the 2010 World Cup... I forgot if it was 2010 or when, the Netherlands vs. Spain in the final. Oh, I was really sad that the Netherlands lost to Spain in that World Cup final. Because it's hard to get to the final for the Netherlands. Brazil often, Argentina, Germany often, France often. The Netherlands is always so close but never quite makes it," he concluded.
