Comedian Yadi Sembako was deeply devastated after being reported with accusations of fraud. His mental state declined and he fell ill.
"I am deeply devastated. Not only me, but also my family, my children, and my parents," said Yadi Sembako at the South Tangerang Metro Police Station on Wednesday (11/10/2023).
"Just receiving a summons, I was already scared. When my media friends reported it, I collapsed, got sick to the point of needing an infusion," he continued.
For Yadi Sembako, this case has tarnished the image that he has built painstakingly throughout his career as an artist.
Many jobs have been canceled because he was reported to be involved in a case of alleged fraud.
"My reputation is ruined. It's completely ruined. Some contracts have even been canceled. The impact is tremendous. People who see me think I'm a scammer," he said.
He also emphasized that he had no intention whatsoever of committing fraud. He claimed that he was merely following the orders of his superior, Gus Anom.
"My good name is ruined like this, because I was told to take responsibility by the commissioner, all because of who? Well, this is not me trying to shirk responsibility, I dare not do anything or organize a big event, let alone sign to create a PT, if not ordered," he said.
For information, Yadi Sembako and Gus Anom were reported by Muhammad Adri Permana as the event organizer for alleged fraud and embezzlement on September 12, 2023, under Article 372 and 378 of the Criminal Code.
The report was made after Yadi Sembako and Gus Anom gave a blank check worth Rp 198 million to the event organizer after organizing the company's launching event created by Gus Anom, namely PT Gudang Artis on August 24, 2023.
