Granddaughter of Indonesian President Soekarno, Puan Maharani Turns Out to Really Enjoy Street Food

In addition, the woman who currently serves as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR RI) is also the granddaughter of the first President of Indonesia, Soekarno.

Recently, Puan was invited to be a special guest on Boy William's Youtube channel. They not only discussed politics, but also talked about many things that the public has not known about Puan Maharani.

From their conversation, several interesting facts about Puan were revealed. Believe it or not, the only daughter of Megawati Soekarnoputri actually enjoys street food just like us.

"I like (street food)! Fried chicken. I enjoy any kind of chicken," said Puan.

1. Traditional Food Lover

During one of her work visits to Klaten in 2019, this 47-year-old woman took the time to enjoy simple culinary delights. Puan stopped by to savor the deliciousness of fried chicken, chicken soup, clear soup, and baceman.

"The food here (in Klaten) is delicious and Jakarta doesn't have it," said Puan. According to her, Klaten's typical food has an authentic taste.

Many did not expect that this PDI Perjuangan cadre from Riau is a humble figure. This is because Soekarno's granddaughter requested to have dinner at a roadside buffet. Puan invited all the cadres to eat at the buffet on Sudirman Street. She looked comfortable and enjoyed every dish served. This first female Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament admitted that she loves mie sagu (sago noodles) the most.

During her tenure as the Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament, a photo of Puan eating at the Pujasera Cafeteria in the Senayan Parliament Complex also went viral. She ordered tongseng, satay, and rujak. Puan is also close to the vendors in the cafeteria.

2. Hope of Mrs. Maharani

At the end of her conversation with Boy, Mrs. Maharani expressed her hopes for Indonesia. She hopes that Indonesia can become a country as envisioned by the founding fathers.

"Indonesia that is advanced, its people love the spirit of mutual cooperation without distinguishing ethnicity and religion, Indonesia with red and white and more fried chicken being eaten," she concluded.
