The Tangerang District Court has just held a divorce verdict hearing between actor Yama Carlos and Arfita Dwi Putri, on Thursday (21/9/2023). In the hearing, besides granting the divorce, the panel of judges also decided on the custody of their child, Marco Armanda Blessio Carlos, to be given to the father.
"First of all, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus that finally the custody of Marco Carlos is given to his biological father through the court's decision at the Tangerang District Court. The country has decided that the custody of Marco is given to me, his biological father," said Yama Carlos happily after the hearing.
Based on the decision, Yama admitted that he can't wait to meet his child after not seeing each other for more than six months.
"For almost half a year, we struggled desperately, ups and downs, today is a historic day for us, our struggle for Marco is finally granted by God. I want them to hand Marco over to me," he said.
Although he has obtained custody of the child, Yama still gives space for Arfita to meet their child. He does not want to behave the same way as Arfita, who allegedly tried to prevent him from meeting Marco for six months.
"From the beginning, I have emphasized that I will not sever Marco's relationship with the woman who gave birth to him, even though custody is in my hands," said Yama Carlos.
The judge decided that Yama Carlos is entitled to custody of Marco based on various considerations.
"First, Arfita's statement admitting fault, second, Arfita often goes out at night and comes home drunk, and third, Arfita's behavior with our client has been revealed," said Ricci, Yama Carlos' lawyer.
In the verdict, Arfita is still allowed to meet her child. "The court also grants Arfita wide access to meet her child," said Ricci.
