Marcella Zalianty was born in Jakarta on March 7, 1980, to actress Tetty Liz Indriati and a man of Minangkabau descent. As the second child of three siblings, she grew up in a rich artistic environment, with her sister, Olivia Zalianty, also pursuing an acting career. Marcella's career began when she was still young, and she quickly showcased her great talent in the world of acting.

Marcella's debut in the entertainment world began with starring in the soap opera CERITA CINTA in 1999. Her popularity skyrocketed, and she gained a lot of public attention as well as positive reviews. Her success in this soap opera paved the way for her long career in the Indonesian entertainment industry. Since then, Marcella has frequently appeared in various soap operas and feature films.

One significant work produced by Keana Production is RECTOVERSO in 2013, where Marcella not only served as a producer but also directed one of the segments in the film. RECTOVERSO is an anthology film adapted from the works of Dewi Lestari.

In the world of theater, Marcella demonstrates her abilities by performing in various stage productions. One of her notable theater performances is in the play Gugur directed by Wawan Sofwan. In 2023, she took on the role of producer for the theater Laksamana Malahayati.
