The husband of Audy Item shared his story about the long journey until he finally established the production house he had long dreamed of.
"Alhamdulillah with the permission of Allah, Uwais Pictures is launching today. I have been dreaming about this for a long time. From the discussions in the Uwais Team, it was actually time for us not to wait to be hired as choreographers, but to create our own action film," said Iko Uwais at XXI Plaza Senayan, Tuesday (21/1/2025).
Uwais Pictures is not just an ordinary production house. Iko explained that this company is the result of the transformation from Uwais Team, a team of action choreographers that has long been recognized in the film industry.
Now, the team has evolved into a production house with a big vision to create quality action films.
"Thus, Uwais Pictures was formed from Uwais Team. Alhamdulillah now there is a solid team, so there's no need to look for action choreographer employees because everything is already within the team," he explained.
Iko also revealed that it took a long time to truly decide to establish Uwais Pictures.
However, he feels that this is the right time to make this dream a reality. Then, with the establishment of Uwais Pictures, will he retire as an actor?
"With this, there are actually many ideas from friends. Usually, as actors, we wait for when and where we are hired by a studio or production house, but now it’s not impossible if it fits the schedule," he said.
"So if I am an actor, it’s like, what do you call it, an artist. If it fits the script and schedule, we prioritize which comes first," concluded Iko Uwais.
