Iko Uwais Inaugurates Uwais Pictures Production House and Announces 2 Action Films Set to Release in 2025

Kapanlagi.com - Iko Uwais has inaugurated a production house named Uwais Pictures, which will focus on Indonesian action films. Uwais Pictures is a long-held dream of Iko Uwais and his team to educate teenagers on enjoying Indonesian action films.

Uwais Pictures has prepared two films that will be released in 2025 titled IKATAN DARAH and TIMUR. Interestingly, the film TIMUR highlights a piece of military history, specifically the special forces unit. Let's check out more information below...

1. Iko Uwais's Reasons for Establishing a Production House

Iko Uwais has had a dream and ambition to establish a production house with his team for a long time. However, he is still looking for the right time so as not to rush into creating a production house.

"Actually, this is my dream and ambition along with my team called Uwais team as choreographers. There have been many discussions and talks with the Uwais team. The right time is what we are looking for so we are not in a hurry to create a production house." said Iko Uwais in the Senayan area of South Jakarta, Tuesday (21/01/2025).

"And now it is officially the release of Uwais Pictures for a film production," he continued.

2. Iko Uwais's Vision and Mission with Uwais Pictures

The vision and mission of Iko Uwais with his production house is to educate teenagers so they can enjoy action films with Indonesian quality. Iko Uwais also stated that Uwais Pictures prioritizes film quality.

"My vision and mission is actually to educate friends and teenagers to enjoy action film packaging but with Indonesian quality. Besides that, it’s not just the aggressiveness that we show but the quality that we present in the films produced by Uwais Pictures," said Iko Uwais.

Iko Uwais also added that he wants to introduce the culture of pencak silat to Indonesia.

"You could say I am in a dilemma about introducing my own culture in my own country while when I am abroad, I am exchanging cultures and they really appreciate pencak silat a lot," he added.

3. Announcement of Upcoming Films

Uwais Pictures has prepared two films that will be released soon in 2025, namely IKATAN DARAH and TIMUR. The film IKATAN DARAH will be directed by Sidharta Tata. Interestingly, the film TIMUR will be directed by Iko Uwais himself and this film highlights patriotism, heroism, and the history of the military institution, namely the special forces unit Koppasus.

"From the film TIMUR, what I want to highlight is its patriotism, its heroism, and we want to create a historical film about Indonesia that hasn't been made for a long time. We want to bring to light one of the military institutions, namely the special forces unit Koppasus, and we wrap it with an action film packaging," said Iko Uwais.

Ryan Santoso hopes that the films that will be released soon can be well-received and entertain the audience.
