Isa Bajaj is now known to be more active in business after deciding to return to his hometown in Magetan, East Java. One of the interesting stories is his tomato plantation to support the traditional Banyuwangi restaurant, Warung Tempong, which he manages with his family.

"Yes, so my business is Warung Tempong, Warung Tempong is from Banyuwangi and was told by the locals. So if you want to make tempong chili sauce, you use chain tomatoes, chain tomatoes are special tomatoes that look like starfruit, or roses," said Isa when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (21/1/2025).

Isa explained that at the beginning of starting his business, he often brought chain tomatoes directly from Banyuwangi to Magetan. However, the shipping process often encountered obstacles.

"Well, in the early days of opening the stall, I went directly there. It turned out that sometimes if the delivery was late, the tomatoes would go bad. So to anticipate that, I planted my own, I gardened," he said.

Warung Tempong, managed by Isa, is famous for its distinctive sambal. It turns out that Isa himself personally grinds the sambal every day.

"Actually, at our stall, it's just that, after this, if it's a side dish, it's just fried, but the main key is the sambal, which I make," said Isa.

Although she never imagined she would directly engage in cooking, Isa admits that she enjoys the activity.

"Yes, I grind it myself. I never thought about it, I never imagined that I would have a job like this," said Isa.

"Now I have to go to the market to shop for grinding, which I also never thought about. But I just enjoy it, it turns out my hands are blessed by God to grind sambal that people like," Isa added.

In addition to managing a tomato plantation, Isa plans to develop her business to become more independent. She wants all the raw materials, from side dishes like catfish, duck, to chicken, to come from her own production.

"Yes, all of that, the plan is that those needs also require land, later the side dishes will include catfish, ducks, chicken, and in the future, we want to produce everything ourselves. From the chickens, catfish, everything except for the river fish, river fish means from the river," concluded Isa.
