Health Reasons, Jonathan Frizzy Not Detained Despite Being a Suspect in the Etomedite Case

"Currently, the lawyer has stated that Mr. JF is experiencing health issues, accompanied by a doctor's certificate," said Kombes Pol Ronald F.C Sipayung when met at Soekarno Hatta Airport Police Station, Monday (5/5/2025).

Ronald also revealed that when picked up from the Serpong area, JF's condition indeed appeared to be unwell. Nevertheless, the individual remained cooperative and provided statements to the investigators openly.

"Indeed, from the results when the investigators picked up the suspect from Serpong, the individual's health condition did appear to be unwell, but the individual was cooperative in providing statements," he explained.

As of Monday night, the investigators were still considering the possibility of detaining JF. According to Ronald, the decision will be made after taking into account health conditions and other humanitarian aspects.

"We still have time until 7 PM tonight to make a decision on whether to detain JF or not, of course considering all aspects," Ronald continued.

Based on health conditions, the investigator decided not to present JF at the press conference. Ronald emphasized that this decision is purely based on medical considerations stating that JF is not yet able to engage in normal activities.

"We did not bring the individual here because physically JF is not allowed to move, not allowed to engage in many activities, so for humanitarian reasons, we cannot present JF and examinations are still being conducted," he concluded.

With JF being designated as a suspect, there are now a total of seven individuals involved in the distribution network of etomedite substances from abroad. The Soekarno Hatta Airport Police are still investigating this case to uncover potential involvement of other parties.
