Recently, April Jasmine, the wife of preacher Ustaz Solmed, received criticism and backlash from netizens after uploading a dancing video on TikTok. "Yesterday I saw what my wife was doing, for example, with very simple movements, very simple, it's like when we used to sing Potong Bebek Angsa, hands to the right, hands to the left, legs to the right, legs to the left. So what's wrong, the movements? or the song? or TikTok?," said ustaz Solmed on Trans TV, South Jakarta, Monday (5/4/2021).

"Well, we all should see and perceive the issue clearly. Long before today, our scholars have discussed the issue of dance, and it falls under the category of differences of opinion, there is room for ijtihad, there are issues of furuiyat and they differ there but they do not insult each other, they do not force each other," he said.

"Don't just expect others to follow us, while we refuse to follow others. Listening to each other, respecting each other, that's what the religion brought by the Prophet Muhammad teaches," said Ustaz Solmed.

"It's normal, this is my life, alhamdulillah my husband is pleased, I follow, that's my duty to seek my husband's pleasure. There will always be people who like it and people who don't, it's already a part of life. It's just normal, nothing special," April Jasmine concluded.
