Hotma Sitompul Mentions Hotman Paris as a Bad Example for Young Lawyers

Kapanlagi.com - Hotma Sitompul asserts that Hotman Paris Hutapea cannot be considered victorious because he has appealed the decision that stated Hotman Paris Hutapea did not commit any violations of the code of ethics held by the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) of DKI Jakarta.

"Hotman Paris has been acquitted and it's surprising that he said that. I have also been acquitted. How can he say he's 2-0, wherever I go, I am more than him. Believe me. From manners, morals, religion, please judge," said Hotma Sitompul in Menteng, South Jakarta, on Monday (4/10).

Regarding the appeal he made, Hotma Sitompul did not make any preparations. The examination process is still ongoing.

"I didn't prepare anything. Remember, everything can only be considered a victory after it has been decided by the law. If it's still under investigation, how many times has he been taken to the police station?" he said.

Furthermore, Hotma Sitompul requested that Hotman Paris Hutapea become a better lawyer. Hotma considers Hotman Paris to be a bad example for young lawyers.

"Behave yourself, pray, be polite and ethical. Do not give a bad impression to young lawyers. It is dangerous for their behavior to be so nonchalant, as the council said. This is a very bad example for young lawyers. If someone has no shame, no ethics, no manners, and no religion," he concluded.

As known, Hotman Paris Hutapea was accused of violating the advocate's code of ethics while representing Desiree Tarigan, Hotma Sitompul's wife. Hotma Sitompul then reported Hotman Paris Hutapea to the PERADI Honorary Council after suspecting a violation of the code of ethics.

The verdict hearing was held recently and stated that Hotman Paris Hutapea did not violate the code of ethics. Displeased, Hotma Sitompul immediately filed an appeal at that time.
