Hotman Paris Reveals His Condition After Being Rushed to the Hospital Post-Trial, Experiencing Serious Infection

Famous lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea shared a shocking story regarding his health condition after attending a defamation trial against Razman Arif Nasution. Hotman admitted that he almost collapsed in the courtroom and had to be rushed to the hospital due to his very low blood pressure.

"So, on the 6th, I had a trial with that bald guy (Razman). Halfway through, I suddenly felt weak, I really thought I was going to collapse right there, so I asked to go home without permission from the judge. The next day, I checked at the hospital here, and it turned out my blood pressure had dropped drastically, even that night, imagine a person's blood pressure dropping from 95 to the 40s, they say that’s already the time to die," said Hotman when met in the Grogol area, West Jakarta, Sunday (4/6/2025).

Hotman recounted that his physical condition was very critical at one point. His blood pressure dropping to 40 made his family panic and cry while he was treated in the emergency room. He also decided to continue his treatment in Singapore.

"I once had a moment at 2 AM when I was sick, what date was that, the 21st, sorry that was on the 20th I had my hearing, I forgot, anyway, I remember my first night in the hospital in Jakarta at 2 AM in the emergency room, where the nurses were already sleepy, family had gone home, and suddenly my blood pressure was nearing 40, and my body temperature was also at 40, it was hot," he explained.

During an examination in Singapore, Hotman was diagnosed with a serious infection called an abscess in the liver. According to him, the abscess was the result of a battle between bacteria and white blood cells that then formed pus.

"It turns out I had an ultrasound, it's called an abscess disease. There’s bacteria that entered your liver. All these bacteria died, so they piled up like a monument inside the liver," Hotman explained his medical condition.

For almost six weeks, Hotman underwent intensive treatment. He received antibiotic infusions every day and is now gradually recovering, although he still needs to take oral medication.

"Yesterday it was checked and I was allowed, previously there was an infusion here, it was implanted. Yesterday it was removed, after being scanned again, the buildup is now minimal, so now it's just pills, and I can dance again next week," he said.

As a precaution, the doctor provided several restrictions that Hotman must adhere to. One of them is to avoid consuming alcohol and certain foods such as long-hanging roasted duck.

"The restriction is one, reduce alcohol. Because once we drink alcohol, the liver gets affected, it dances along, avoid those that have been hanging for a long time," he said.

Hotman also recounted that he still needs to undergo an endoscopy procedure to check the condition of his intestines and ensure there are no other more serious health issues.

"I will return to Singapore later, scheduled for the 28th for the endoscopy, for a routine check. I am confident it’s not a beaver, he said there were symptoms before," he concluded.

Even during the recovery period, Hotman remains active in his activities. He admitted that he has reduced his extreme working hours and now works more often from home to maintain his body's condition stable.
