Ijab Kabul Moment Becomes Spotlight, 8 Photos of Maxime Bouttier Admitting to Being Very Nervous During the Wedding Ceremony - Luna Maya Also Feels Tense

Officially married to Luna Maya on Wednesday (5/7/2025) at COMO Shambala Estate, Gianyar, Bali, Maxime Bouttier revealed the tense moment during the ijab kabul ceremony. Although he seemed calm, Maxime was actually harboring an extraordinary nervousness.

When met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (5/17/2025), Maxime mentioned that the ijab kabul process felt very tense for him.

"Yeah, from the siraman, it felt like the anticipation increased, because there was a live broadcast, I felt like wow this is not just for family but really for all of Indonesia. But for sure, I was very nervous and I just wanted it to be official right away, so that’s the main thing I was thinking about," said Maxime.

Although it was brief, Maxime felt that the moment was very memorable. Moreover, he had to say the marriage vows right in front of Luna Maya's biological brother. "It felt like falling derrrrr like that," he said.

Even after the ceremony was over and declared valid by the witnesses, Maxime still couldn't believe he had successfully passed those important seconds. "Just for a split second," he said, describing the pause that sparked a debate among netizens.

Luna Maya herself admitted to feeling tense during the ceremony. She thought Maxime would repeat the marriage vows because of the brief pause that occurred.

"Did you know? When there was a brief silence, I thought he was going to repeat it, but it turned out that the pause was really just a fraction of a second," said Luna.

However, after receiving clarification from a religious leader, Luna felt calm because the pause that occurred was still within reasonable limits.

"That pause is normal for someone who is performing the ijab kabul, it's natural for people to feel tense. It was just a fraction of a second, you know, some even counted the seconds on social media," she explained.

Luna mentioned that the moments before the ijab began felt very long for her. She felt a mix of emotion and tension in that sacred atmosphere.

"Which is very beautiful, I really enjoyed it from before it started. The ustadz also recited the holy verses, but it felt quite long for me, thinking 'when will it start', I was nervous," Luna concluded.
