Kapanlagi.com - Lawyer Indra Tarigan has finally been arrested by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) after his name was put on the wanted list (DPO) for a defamation case reported by actress Nikita Mirzani. It is known that Indra is currently being held at Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta.
The arrest itself took place on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at around 12:30 PM WIB. However, when Indra was apprehended, he requested time and it was only at 1:00 PM WIB that Indra was finally taken to Cipinang Prison for detention.
Upon learning of this, Nikita Mirzani, who is currently in South Korea, welcomed the arrest. Moreover, Indra is already considered a suspect.
"How do I feel? Alhamdulillah I'm happy that I can finally obtain justice in this country," said Nikita when contacted via WhatsApp on Tuesday (4/7/2023).
According to Nikita, the case she reported could serve as an example for using social media wisely. Especially, it should be used to prevent bullying of children.
"Indra Tarigan should have been detained to serve as a lesson for social media users to not bully underage children recklessly," said the mother of three.
As known, Nikita filed a police report in 2019. However, Indra also did the same thing with a case of alleged defamation through electronic media.
Finally, Nikita's reported case was brought to trial and Indra was found guilty, resulting in a 6-month prison sentence. Indra appealed, but his sentence was increased to 8 months and fined Rp250 million or an alternative of six months imprisonment.
The verdict is the decision of the judge of the High Court of DKI Jakarta and Indra had filed a cassation in the case but was rejected by the judge of the Supreme Court.
Therefore, the execution was carried out based on the Decision of the Supreme Court Number: 7151 K/Pid.Sus/2022 dated December 26, 2022, Indra Tarigan.
