Kapanlagi.com - Ramses W. Hardjanto, one of the talented young writers, has released his debut book titled 'The Game Of Life And How To Win It'. Hardjanto intentionally launched his debut book on Youth Pledge Day on October 28, 2021.

The release of Ramses W. Hardjanto's book is based on his experiences and observations while playing golf and after interviewing 32 public figures such as professional golf players, celebrities, Indonesian philanthropist entrepreneurs, athletes, and Harvard Professors.

Ramses tells that when he plays golf and sees others playing golf, he sees it as a reflection of daily life.

"I see the game of golf as a representation of life. How we play our roles in living life and overcoming obstacles. It's the same as going through each 'hole' in the game of golf. And also, how we strive to become winners," said this British School Jakarta 13th-grade student in an apartment in South Jakarta, Sunday (9/26/2021).

As a writer, Ramses admits that his dedicated work is one of his contributions as a millennial in this country to help change the mindset of society to be positive.

1. Golf as an Expensive Sport

Ramses explained that although golf is always stereotyped as an expensive sport, the fact is there is no connection between victory and the golf 'battle gear' that must be purchased to support this victory.

"When talking about golf, we are talking about life. It is about how we manage the energy, thought patterns, and resources we have to pass each 'hole' well. How we combine stroke technique, focus, and mental calmness to achieve 'par' or 'birdie' or 'eagle'. If we are lucky, we can achieve a 'hole-in-one'. Or how we must be patient, calm, and never give up when encountering a 'bogey'," he explained.

Similarly in life. Ramses said that not everything we do will always yield sweet results. There are steps we take that are wrong, which ultimately result in failure or imperfection.

"In golf and in life, we both have to learn to manage energy, patience, and strategy in order to adapt to all conditions and plan the next steps. We must be more focused so that our targets are achieved as expected," said Ramses, who is also the founder of 'Ambassadors of Orphanage'.

2. Discussion About Life

While playing golf, Ramses revealed that he often communicates with players of his age as well as senior and other professional golfers. The discussion topics are not only about golf but also about the life they experience.

"It seems that there is no connection between golf and everyday life. But in fact, from the experience and interaction with fellow players and seniors, they all tell stories about how to overcome every problem with healthy and smart solutions. It requires perseverance in the effort to achieve something, patience, and hard work," he explained.

Ramses mentioned that even what he experiences while playing golf can be applied to the Covid pandemic.

"In golf, when hitting the ball, we certainly target where the ball will fall or how many strokes are needed to finish the hole. But sometimes, what we expect doesn't happen. Instead, the ball falls in the sand. That's something unexpected. The pandemic is almost similar to what we play in golf," he said.
