Ivan Gunawan Still Enthusiastic about Selling Peyek Amidst the Corona Outbreak

Kapanlagi.com - Not a few celebrities have opened culinary businesses that promise great profits. One of the celebrities who has opened a culinary business is Ivan Gunawan.

Despite the corona outbreak, Ivan Gunawan admits to still being enthusiastic about selling his peyek business. He also mentioned that he is currently more active in online sales.

"If, for example, in my stores or stores in nine cities in Indonesia, I take over to do online sales," said Ivan Gunawan when met at the Trans TV building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (14/4/2020).

1. Open Online Shopping

The artist, commonly known as Igun, admitted that he initially faced difficulties. Especially since he had to close his outlets to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

"If the outlets are closed, then all of my outlets are closed. But I implemented online shopping to avoid customers coming to the store and all that. Moreover, I'm grateful that I created a collection one month before the coronavirus emerged. So I have already given purchase orders to agents and distributors. So now I just have to deliver and sell for the fasting month," said Igun.

2. No Employee Layoffs

This well-known artist and designer also mentioned experiencing difficulties with employee salaries. However, Igun will continue to seek the best solutions.

"There are definitely (challenges) with employee salaries, yes, there are. But I will try my best to find a way. So I started selling peyek (snacks). So the income from the boutique is not much, but it turns out that selling food has a quite good response. So it can cover the needs," said Igun.

"The store has been closed since the beginning of the coronavirus, so it's been about a month and a half. As for me, until now, I haven't reduced any employees. I haven't laid off any employees," he added.
